BIO 370 - Evolutionary Medicine
This course explores how evolutionary principles can help us better understand health and disease. Evolutionary biology has important implications for the medical concepts of health, “normal” physiology and illness. Many of these ideas challenge the conventional wisdom of the health sciences. Concepts from evolutionary biology are applied to problems in medicine and public health, including antibiotic resistance, pathogen virulence, aging, cancer, and autoimmune disease. |
